Modcon Solutions successfully delivered the construction and project management of purpose-built modular facilities for the Broadsound Solar Farm, supporting the operational requirements of a major renewable energy project in regional Queensland.

The project utilised an integrated off-site manufacturing and on-site installation methodology, enabling an accelerated construction programme while reducing site-based works in a remote project environment. THe challenge and solution

Broadsound Solar Farm required the delivery of purpose-built modular facilities to support the construction and ongoing operation of a major renewable energy project in regional Queensland. With a remote project location, demanding programme and complex logistical requirements, certainty across design, manufacturing, transport and site delivery was critical.

The facilities needed to provide robust, functional and compliant working environments designed for the operational demands of the site, while maintaining quality, programme and cost certainty throughout delivery.

Modcon Solutions implemented an integrated modular construction approach, coordinating design, engineering, off-site manufacturing, transport and installation. Fabrication within a controlled manufacturing environment enabled detailed quality assurance and construction activities to progress concurrently with civil and site preparation works.

This approach significantly reduced the amount of construction required on site while providing greater control over quality, safety and programme. Completed modules were transported to the remote project location and efficiently installed, providing durable, fit-for-purpose facilities ready to support the long-term operation of Broadsound Solar Farm.

By coordinating off-site modular construction with on-site civil and foundation works, key activities could progress concurrently, reducing the overall construction programme and minimising site-based works.
